You are eligible to be on the Māori Roll if you are 18 or over, are of Māori descent, a New Zealand Citizen or permanent resident, and have lived in New Zealand for more than one year continuously at some point.
Are Cook Islands Māori allowed to go on the Māori Roll?
No. Only people of New Zealand Māori descent can be registered on the Māori Roll. Cook Islands Māori must be registered on the General Roll.
